Indiana Fever forward Aliyah Boston

Aliyah Boston and the Indiana Fever entered the playoffs with facing a huge challenge. They took on the defending champions, the Las Vegas Aces with Tyasha Harris. She suffered a season-ending injury in the regular-season finale and the team needed gave her minute to rookie Raven Johnson off the bench. The four-time All-Star forward/center sent a message to her via her Instagram story.

Boston delivered a strong performance in the winner-take-all Game 3 on Thursday. She finished with 19 points on 9-of-18 shooting, along with 10 rebounds, three assists and two blocks. Kelsey Mitchell both struggled from the field, combining for a 13-of-41 clip, and recording 23 and 18 points, respectively. However, their solid production wasn’t enough to advance to the next round, losing 94-83 at Michelob ULTRA Arena.

Indiana Fever: Aliyah Boston posts heartfelt message for Tyasha Harris

Harris sustained a broken fibula against the Minnesota Lynx on Sept. 24. She landed awkwardly on her lower leg in the third quarter and immediately grimaced in pain. Boston uploaded a photo with her while sitting on the announcers’ table with a heartfelt message of support.

“❤❤❤ my gurllll,” Boston wrote.

Harris also underwent an unspecified surgery on her left knee in June 2025 and missed the remainder of the season. She then signed with the Fever last April to provide more depth at the guard positions as she has the ability to play both the one and two spots.

Boston and Harris were also teammates for two seasons with the South Carolina Gamecocks. They quickly formed a strong bond on and off the court and played key roles in 2020, when Harris earned SEC Female Athlete of the Year honors. It remains to be seen if Indiana will bring her back for next season as they only previously agreed on a one-year deal. The franchise has big decisions to make in the offseason, including Mitchell’s future.
