Dave Portnoy makes honest admission after getting Nike Caitlin Clark 1s
Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark’s first signature shoes, the Nike Caitlin 1s, continue to be a huge topic of conversation in WNBA and shoe collectors’ circles. It was released worldwide on Oct. 1 and has received a lot of good reviews. Dave Portnoy posted a video of him unboxing his pair along with an honest admission.
Clark and the Fever were eliminated in this year’s playoffs on the same day her signature shoes released. They pushed their first-round series against the Las Vegas Aces to a Game 3 but lost 94-83 at Michelob ULTRA Arena. It ended the three-time All-Star guard’s historic season as she set several WNBA records. However, she struggled in the winner-take-all matchup, shooting 6-of-18 from the field and finishing with 18 points, four assists and three three-pointers.
Indiana Fever: Dave Portnoy opens up on his Nike Caitlin 1 pairs
Portnoy’s clip on X showed him opening the box of his Nike Caitlin 1s. He also shared that he did not receive them from Clark but stressed that she should have gifted him a pair.
“Let’s go,” Portnoy said. “Did she send me them? No, she didn’t. Even though she probably should have since I’ve f***** with her longer than anybody. But here we go. Woo! Woo! Full report coming.”

The Barstool Sports founder received the Racer Blue colorway, which was the first silhouette available for general release. It features a royal blue breathable, lightweight mesh upper with structural patterns and matching blue laces. Retailers currently sell them for $151.99, down from their original SRP of $190. Nike has also released other colorways to the public.
Portnoy is a long-time Clark fan and has watched several Fever games live at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. He has also expressed his support publicly for the 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year and defended her from her critics.
