Indiana Fever’s latest announcement is great news for sneaker fans
The Indiana Fever is arguably the most popular team in the WNBA. Their fan base continues to grow around the world, and they also have some of the most followed players on social media. The team made an announcement on Wednesday that will likely excite sneaker fans.
Indiana qualified for the playoffs this season. It finished the regular season with a 28-16 record and clinched the No. 6 seed. However, things did not go according to plan despite pushing the first-round series versus the Las Vegas Aces to a deciding Game 3 on Oct. 1. The Fever lost 94-83 at Michelob ULTRA Arena and saw their title hopes this season end.
They face a crucial offseason, with the front office needing to make some big decisions. Some of their key players will enter unrestricted free agency, and the executives will contemplate on re-signing them or bring in pieces from around the league instead.
Fever announce availability of iconic Nike sneakers in the team’s colors
The Fever Team Store posted on social media on Wednesday. It featured a photo of the WNBA and Fever Nike Air Force 1s and announced that they are back in stock. The iconic sneakers are available in two colorways: orange and navy slate.
“Select Sizes of our WNBA and Indiana Fever Air Force 1’s are back in stock! Grab yours now before they’re gone for good!” the Fever wrote.

The store lists the kicks at $130 per pair and offers them in limited quantities. It did not announce a specific number of pairs available, and they will likely sell out quickly.
Nike originally released the Air Force 1s in 1982. Bruce Kilgore designed them and they became a hit worldwide. The Swoosh Brand has since created several silhouettes and PEs, and sneakerheads continue to purchase them as part of their collections.
