Money Monday: Iraq Crisis Likely To Trigger Next 2008

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

I haven’t been reporting too much on the news lately, what with all the personal business keeping me occupied, but the Iraq crisis bears some real scrutiny, because its likely to trigger the next painful step down in the Decline.

Some perspective: www.peakprosperity.com/blog/85802/iraq-breaks-down-oil-surges

The only reason it hasn’t become a crisis YET is because most of Iraq’s oil is in the south, and so far the Sunnis have only been invading the north. What a fucking mess this is! And we have only our own Western governments to blame! I really appreciate the summation of things in that article above, because it is very annoying how the Western media just glosses over the most pertinent points.

Earlier this year, I have noted that several people who seem to notice things coming before they do, including some of our amateur economists (not paid to lie, in other words) and Peak Oil aware types like John Michael Greer, started to agree that the next bubble pop/recessional event similar (but much worse) to 2008 would happen by late this year.

Given events in Iraq and that the insurgents are making their way down towards the southern oil fields of Iraq even as I write– it seems likely that by the end of the summer or early autumn we will see shockwaves of extremely high oil prices coming our way.

Which means all of us who are paying attention need to start getting conservative, saving our extra money, and battening down the hatches…

.. a storm is coming.
