But the Azov Brigade was merged into the National Guard of Ukraine in 2014 and so according to the BBC at the time Russia’s accusation that the Kiev regime is a “fascist junta” was “demonstrably false” and Ukraine could not be anti-semitic because Zelensky, then the speaker of its Parliament, is a Jew.
Unfortunately the Azov lot since returned to prominence and according to Wikipedia has “drawn controversy over its early and allegedly continuing association with far-right groups and neo-Nazi ideology, its use of controversial symbols linked to Nazism, and early allegations that members of the unit participated in human rights violations.”
Thanks to Britain’s intensifying its provocation support for Ukraine Russia has recently recalled its ambassador to the UK amid threats to retaliate by striking at our drone factories.

Don’t you believe it. It took the Russians eight years from 2014 to decide to invade Ukraine, rightly or wrongly. Now they appear to be carefully deliberating their response to us, and the chief of the CIA flew to Moscow yesterday. Let’s hope his diplomacy succeeds where the blundering of our own clueless amateurs has been failing.
