We have a country that has serious problems running right to its core and affecting the daily lives of everyone in it.
We have a PM who acts like a minor jobsworth and meddles in only the most insignificant issues of the day
He’s meddled
in the price of bus tickets, capping the cost at £2. This will save money for people who use buses and usually pay more than £2 for their journey, but the estimated annual cost of the price cap of £500 million, will come from everyones tax money
He’s meddling in the building trade, because he wants to prevent people from being
scammed by cowboy builders. His scheme might prevent a few dim people from being taken for a ride, while the rest of use existing tools like ‘Trust a Trader’ to check the skills of those we employ, but the costs of the scheme, levied on trades people themselves, and obviously passed on to the consumer, will increase bills for everyone
He wants to prevent airlines from
charging parents extra to have their kids sat with them, because apparently airlines are ripping off parents. The process airlines use, where you pay a fee for every different thing you want, is not ripping people off, it’s ensuring they only pay for what they want to use. They’re budget airlines. They’re cheap. This is how they do it
If you don’t want to pay for seats, you don’t have to. They will sit you somewhere, and usually families go together where possible, but not always. Taking a child on holiday, means there might be additional expenses you have to stump up for
Once the airlines are prevented from charging for childrens seats in peak child periods, the cost of everybodys seat will go up to compensate
And what about
concert tickets? They’re expensive. They’re expensive when the tickets are for someone popular, who people are willing to pay a lot of money to go and see. If people weren’t willing to pay the money, they would not do so and ticket prices would come down
The meddler in chief wants to legislate to bring ticket prices down anyway. I’m not someone who goes to concerts, so I don’t know what will give to compensate for this loss of revenue, but I’m sure that something will
And it’s not just tickets you buy over the counter. The meddler wants to meddle in resold tickets. If people did not want to pay through the nose for a resold ticket, they would not do. But Andy has to make sure they can’t, if they want to or not
He’s also
meddling in subscriptions, proposing to make it easier for people to get out of subscriptions they don’t use. Ok, so there are a few annoying things when it comes to having a subscription for something; credit card for a free trial, auto renewing at a higher price, endless waffle when you phone up to cancel, but none of these are really anything to do with the national government.
As long as you understand the possible pitfalls of subscribing to something, and you keep a regular eye on your finances (Which should go without saying for everyone), you’ll be fine. And if all else fails, go online and cancel your direct debit
Under the same legislation above, he wants to meddle in misleading discounts. Many years ago, I bought a jacket in a shop in Preston. It was a tenner. I bought it because it was a nice jacket and worth a tenner. The sign on it said, ‘Reduced from £100′. I didn’t buy it for the reduction, it wasn’t worth £100, and I just figured that price tag would be for the rich toffs who buy things because they are expensive, and not for what they are. It was my first experience of the discount system where something is advertised at a silly high price for a while, so it can be ‘discounted’ later
Nobody should need to government to prevent them from buying tat they don’t want, just because a shop says it’s on sale

The civil service is out of control. It’s huge, it’s captured by the left, they all pretend to work from home, and it costs an absolute fortune
The NHS (May it live forever) is suffering from huge waiting times, overcrowding, low health outcomes, lack of front line staff, a surfeit of useless management staff, including HR officers, diversity officers, inclusion officers, and even climate change officers, and the whole thing costs an absolute fortune
The cost of living is increasing for everyone, including home heating and car fuel bills. Inflation, transport costs, taxes and wages are ensuring that your weekly shop costs an absolute fortune
Borrowing and the national debt is out of control, and paying back the debt plus interest is costing an absolute fortune
Ever since the police allowed the ‘mostly peaceful’ BLM riots, but cracked down hard on the anti-lockdown protests, they have picked a side, and it isn’t ours. They are ‘powerless’ to stop a pro Palestine march in London on 7th October, but are totally able to go in with batons and shields when people march with little England flags
They will lock down an entire town to prevent people trying to get in the way of illegal immigrants breaking the law by entering the country on a rubber boat, but will not arrest the illegal immigrants
The courts are the same. They will send you to jail for complaining about immigration on Twitter, but release you on bail if you’ve been arrested on suspicion of being a terrorist
And all the while, policing of constant pro pal marches and huge mobilisations to protect the boat people are costing an absolute fortune
Legislation is out of control and heaping all kinds of costs on small businesses. The minimum wage, employers national insurance, excessive employee rights, excessive health, hygiene and safety laws, excessive environmental regulations, excessive bureaucracy and red tape, are costing businesses an absolute fortune
Welfare is out of control. Unemployment is up because businesses can no longer afford to hire people, and those who’ve made being on the dole a career choice, are getting paid more than some people in full time employment. Young people are getting paid to stay at home because they have anxiety, or some made up brain fog issue
And the cost of all these unemployed, be it genuine or just plain laziness, is costing the country an absolute fortune
And to pay for it all, we all have to pay an absolute fortune in taxes
The country is literally going down the shitter while Andy fiddles. I have four more years before I can retire and get out of this godforsaken country, so it’s not all bad
I made a prediction once, though: ‘It will get a lot worse before it gets better’
I later updated that prediction:’ It will not get better in our lifetimes’
I now udate that prediction again: ‘If this keeps up, four years time will be too late’
