Chicago White Sox predicted to lead MLB in this major stat in 2026
For years, the Chicago White Sox were one of the hardest Major League Baseball teams to watch. From 2023-2025, they lost more than 100 games a year, hitting an all-time low with a 41-121 record in 2024. Indeed, it seemed like Chicago had nothing going for themselves for a long time.
2026 has been an entirely different story. At 51-46, the White Sox are tied for first place in the American League Central Division. Indeed, Chicago has now become one of the most entertaining teams to watch this year, and the fact that they, as a team, are absolutely mashing the ball is a big reason why.
The Chicago White Sox are predicted to lead MLB in home runs
Bleacher Report recently released an article in which they give a bold prediction for each MLB team for the rest of the 2026 season. They predict that the White Sox will end the year leading the Majors in home runs:
“The White Sox finished 23rd in the majors with 165 home runs last season, and Lenyn Sosa was the team leader with 22 long balls.
“This year they entered the All-Star break fourth in the league with 129 homers, behind only the Yankees (142), Nationals (138) and Astros (132). With Munetaka Murakami back healthy and Kyle Teel also rejoining the lineup, the South Siders should continue to pile up impressive power numbers, while the Yankees are still without Aaron Judge and the Nationals and Astros both have second-half fade potential.”
As of this writing, the White Sox have already hit 130 home runs. They are led by shortstop Colson Montgomery, who has 23. Miguel Vargas, who was an All-Star, has 21. Munetaka Murakami, who missed over a month of the season due to a strained hamstring, has 20.
