Chicago White Sox: Tristan Peters named to AL All-Star squad 1 day after cycle
Last year, the Chicago White Sox were the worst team in Major League Baseball. As such, they only had one player named to the 2025 All-Star Game, starter Shane Smith. Now Smith is not even in the Majors and the White Sox are suddenly one of the better teams in the American League.
Despite how much they have turned it around in 2026, Chicago once again had just one player named to the AL All-Star roster: Miguel Vargas.
On Friday, when he returned from the injured list, Munetaka Murakami was named as a replacement All-Star player. He also accepted an invitation to participate in the Home Run Derby.
And now, the White Sox have a third All-Star.

On Saturday morning, it was announced that Tristan Peters, too, has been named as a replacement All-Star for the American League:

On Friday night, Peters became the seventh player in franchise history to hit for the cycle. He became the first rookie in the history of Major League Baseball to accomplish the feat while hitting from the ninth spot in a lineup.
For the season, Peters is hitting .303/.357/.484 with six home runs, 35 RBI, and five stolen bases.
This is the first time since 2022 that Chicago has multiple All-Stars. That year, they were represented by Tim Anderson and Liam Hendricks. It is also the first time they have had more than two All-Stars since 2021, when they sent four players to All-Star Game. Those players were Anderson, Hendricks, Lance Lynn, and Carlos Rodon.
