Camp Notes: A Welcome Sight as Injured CBs Return

Monday’s session at 1 Winning Drive was an uneventful one, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing in the middle of a busy few days for the Ravens, between their first preseason games and upcoming joint practices in Minnesota.

Both Nate Wiggins and Marlon Humphrey were back at practice, a positive sign for the pair of defensive backs. Wiggins’ injury must not have been very serious, considering he left practice on the cart just six days ago. Seemed to have been more of a scare than anything.

RB Rasheen Ali, LBs Jay Higgins IV and Carl Jones Jr., DBs Amani Oruwariye, Robert Longerbeam, and Jahquez Robinson, and DT C.J. Okoye were all absent today.

Nnamdi Madubuike still hasn’t hit anything, and continues to work off to the side. Teddye Buchanan was also on a side field as he continues to ramp up after activation from the PUP list.

The defensive line certainly won the day in the trenches. Adisa Isaac, Ethan Burke, and Aaron Graves were all active today. It seemed like a lot of plays would have likely resulted in sacks or a quick throwaway, but the offense typically plays through when the D-linemen pull up.

One of the offensive highlights of the day came when Zay Flowers caught a pass deep over the middle and danced up the sideline for a long touchdown.

Rashod Bateman had a few nice grabs, including a touchdown catch on a skinny post route. Lamar Jackson delivered a frozen rope to tuck it to Bateman in front of the closing Silas Walters.

Mark Andrews caught a few underneath passes, but has yet to break off any consistent chunk plays in camp.

The Ravens will have a walkthrough tomorrow, and then travel to Minnesota for joint practices Wednesday and Thursday before their second preseason game on Saturday, August 22nd at 1:00 PM.
