For When Doomsday Arrives, Luxurious Common Spaces Available for Thousands

Spots are filling up fast in shared space in underground shelters in Indiana, Nebraska, and the Rockies.

Technically, more than 100,000 people have applied for a spot in a Vivos shelter; Robert Vicino, owner of the company, said he recieved a message years ago that the world was going to end and so he started later on to build vast underground shelters.

“I was inspired with a very powerful message around 1980 that I needed to build a shelter for 1,000 people deep underground to survive something that was coming that was going to be an extinction event,” he said in a phone interview with Vice. He has since expanded that vision.

The company requires people to sign up as a member with Vivos (free), than pay $35,000 per person (starting rate) to “co-own” (have a set of keys and reserved space in) a shelter.

Co-ownership is “far below the cost of building your own shelter, and a fraction of the proportional replacement cost of any of our shelters,” according to the Vivos website. 

In fact, Vicino and his team have spent years acquiring nuclear blast-proof bunkers that were created during the Cold War then spending $10 million-plus outfitting each one with generators, entire new spines (heating, ventilation, and the like), and the essentials like food and furniture.

Each shelter requires two co-owners with seperate keys to open them at the same time, and Vicino wants them reserved for apocalypse-level doom only.

“What Vivos is, is a modern-day fortress or citadel, where our members are safe and secure, with all the supplies they need to ride it out. And we can defend the facilities. So if the rest of the world’s gone crazy, our people will at least be in a safe haven,” Vicino said. “I can tell you, you will never get into the compound. And if you do, once the shelter’s locked down, unless you’re in the military, you’re not getting through the door.”

Inside each shelter will be a theater, gym, classrooms, and a detention center to jail unruly residents, according to Forbes. Also, doctors, police officers, and teachers. 

“We want two of everything, like Noah’s Ark,” Vicino said.

Videos on the Vivos website outline major scenarios that could happen, either involving 2012, secret government shelters, anarchy, or nuclear terrorism. A YouTube video of Nibiru is in another section.

The shelters enable each member to survive “for a minimum of one year autonomously,” says the website. Menus provide 2,500 caloriea pere day for each meal no matter the diet.

Additionally, each shelter has “deep underground water wells … fuel to power the generators for a minimum of one year, extensive medical equipment, security devices, survival gear, books, educational and entertainment materials, gym equipment, tools, spare parts, radios, computers, televisions, safes, off-road vehicles,  non-hybrid seeds, farming tools, hunting and fishing equipment, and much more.”

“Members need only arrive,” the website continues. “Everything needed is provided, ready and waiting.”

Vicino told Vice he’s not the typical “prepper,” in as much as he is not a gun-stocker or hoarder.

Excerpt: “He insists the people who buy spaces in his shelter are like him: multi-ethnic, multinational professionals of all different religions. ‘Our people have a survivor mentality, but they’re notsurvivalists,’ he said. ‘They’re not hoarding food and guns and ammo and camo gear in their garage or their basement. Instead, they bought Vivos.’”
