A leading earthquake scientist has warned that the planet could be cracking up after a series of massive quakes in just 48 hours.
Expert Gheorghe Marmureanu – from Romania’s National Institute of Earth Physics – says 39 quakes had hit the globe within two days.
The series started with two massive quakes in Indonesia measuring 8.6 and 8.2 on the Richter scale rapidly followed by three more only slightly smaller in Mexico within hours.
“There is no doubt that something is seriously wrong. There have been too many strong earthquakes,” said Marmureanu.
He added: “The quakes are a surprise that cannot be easily explained by current scientific knowledge. With the Indonesian quake for example, statistically, there should be one big earthquake in this part of Asia every 500 years. However, since 2004, there were already three quakes with a magnitude of over 8, which is not normal.

the truth is that no geologists or seismologists will venture to say that the upper mantle is being replaced with hotter lower mantle molton rock & mineral…
it seems that there is a cycle where subduction plate material builds up and clogs the normal mantle convection currents of the mantle
as a result the hotter lower mantle material is pushed up towards the crustal plate way before it is supposed to be there…
result… extra heat stresses the faults & strata of trapped gasses and voids within the crustal plates way more than normal…
in other words we are approaching a ‘Siberian traps’ era of volcanoes & earthquakes in more than 12 hot spots over the planet

God’s plan, through the work and person of Jesus, is to destroy death and decay which was/is caused by our sin. Just as Noah was a witness and voice for God – warning those in the world for 100 years that a catastrophic flood was coming and that there was only one way to be saved (in the Ark), I (and other Christ followers) are pleading with the world today to turn to Jesus because He is the ONLY way to be saved from the judgement of sin and death – which is leading to the destruction and judgement of the world and all who live here.

Geology sure brings out the religious nutters. Every time there is an article that tries to understand the processes of geology, people start ranting and raving about the bible. I resent being told if I don’t repent I am going to hell for all eternity because GOD LOVES ME. You would do better to go to church and have discussions with those who believe as you do. Don’t try to save me. I know all about your religion because you have been trying to pound it into me without any success. I will never believe it so move on. The God I believe in doesn’t need to send lost souls to hell. The bible is just a book written by people who lived a long time ago and had no real idea of creation. I didn’t ask you for your religious advice so stay on the religious forums and off here.

This Croatian does not seem to have much knowledge of the ring of fire. Earthquakes and volcanoes erupt all the time in this area. The earth is not cracking up. This is a terribly unscientific thing to say.
I don’t think the earth is cracking up but I am curious about what could happen. It doesn’t seem unrealistic that one of these years we are going to see 8 and above earthquakes in Japan, Indonesia, Portugal, Chile and California so close to each other they might as well be simultaneous.

Well, this was foretold. By Yahueh Himself, and His Messiah, who came in His Father’s Name, Yah – Yahushua, also said the same, in Matthew!
I do fear the world who puts their trust in God WILL have the SAME kinds of destruction foretold that will take most of the earth’s population, also foretold, by all kinds of things, not the least of which are earthquakes.

That word always sort of perplexed me. I knew for decades that it meant ‘different’. But – of course, earthquakes have always been in different places.
The thing that hit me a couple days ago, as we talked about this word, is: When one earthquake hits in one place, and then, another (or few or more) happen on the opposite side of the globe, almost immediately after the others on the other side, (very very different places)
that is what I think it means now.

Also, it could be meaning that sense of ‘divers’ or diverse places, as in many, exceedinly different places, as in the strange earth sounds that are ALL OVER THE GLOBE from Budapest, To Africa, to Canada, to Ireland, to Russia, to Florida, from California to Hawaii. that is what you call divers places!

So, as someone who has read the Bible and Revelation specifically numerous times I must say that what is going on around the world has a stark resemblance to what was written almost 2,000 years ago and honestly every time I read something like this it scares the crap out of me.
Now, leaving off religion and going on a purely scientific stand (meaning no mysticism or symbolism), is there cause for immediate alarm if this is natural phenomena? A more clear question is, is there any scientific data to suggest that we as humans in danger of extinction within the next two or three years? 20 years? My life time (I’m 38)?
