Derrick Rose lands on cover of NBA 2K27 Ultimate Edition
Chicago sports will now have two video game cover athletes here in 2026. After Caleb Williams was named as the cover athlete for the upcoming Madden NFL game, it’s now Derrick Rose’s turn to grace a cover.
For the second time, Rose will be a cover athlete for NBA 2K27 the game announced on Wednesday morning. Rose will be on the cover of the Ultimate Edition for the game. He joins Victor Wembanyama as the main cover athlete and Caitlin Clark as the deluxe edition cover athlete. All three are former No. 1 overall picks and have won the Rookie of the Year award.

Not the first time Derrick Rose has been the cover athlete
Rose had a successful career with his hometown team, the Chicago Bulls during the 2010’s including winning an MVP. But he was also the cover athlete for NBA 2K13. Now, over 10 years later he’s back on a cover.
“It’s crazy looking back at being on the NBA 2K13 cover to now having my own edition for NBA 2K27,” Rose said in a release. “During my journey there have been coaches who believed in me, teammates who made me better, and fans who showed up louder than I ever expected. So, this is a chance to inspire young athletes to stay obsessed with the game. To show them that when you put in the countless hours of hard work, it rewards you.”
The standard edition for “NBA 2K27” will launch Sept. 4, with early access for deluxe and ultra edition players beginning Aug. 28.
