Chicago Bears make intriguing roster move before Seahawks clash
On a two-game win streak with Caleb Williams back under center, the Chicago Bears have momentum on their side. However, they’re preparing for the difficult task of facing the Seattle Seahawks on Monday Night Football.
The clash will truly be a “rock” vs “hard place” spectacle. Chicago is entering battle with the third-best offense in the NFL, averaging 390.7 yards per game. But in turn, Seattle holds the best defense in the league, allowing just 233.9 YPG.
A win for either side would prove their Super Bowl hopes are legit. In front of the entire NFL world on primetime, neither team can afford to fall on their face. Either side is expecting one of their tougher challenges of the 2026 campaign.
Before kickoff, both sides are putting the finishing touches on their gameday roster. That led to a new full-time member of the Bears on Tuesday.
Chicago Bears add new running back to mix

Running back Zavier Scott has been added to the 53-man roster, via Zack Pearson of Bear Report. In turn, cornerback Nick McCloud has been released.
“The Bears have signed RB Zavier Scott to the active roster. They have released DB Nick McCloud from the active roster,” Pearson wrote. “After Scott was called up from the PS three times, the Bears needed to make a decision on him to add to roster or release.”
Scott’s work on special teams earned him the full-time call up. He has five tackles and a forced fumble over his three games with the Bears. Out of practice squad elevations, he either needed to be added to the roster or leased. Chicago didn’t want to lose Scott’s special teams expertise.
The running back has yet to register a touch on offense. So even with Kyle Monangai injury, it’s fair to wonder if Scott will work into the rushing mix. If active, it can’t be ruled out of the equation though.
Even if Scott doesn’t run the ball, his ability to tackle and force chaos on returns is a valuable asset for the Bears. He’ll now have an opportunity to continue making noise full-time with Chicago.
