Chicago Bears Jonah Jackson

Jonah Jackson exited the Chicago Bears’ Week 6 game against the Atlanta Falcons. He sustained a hip and quadriceps issues and did not return. However, he was cleared to play last Thursday versus the New England Patriots. He talked about the training staff’s role in making sure he suited up.

Jackson joined Chicago on March 12, 2025 following a trade from the Houston Texans. He signed a  one-year, $12.25 million contract extension the next day. The veteran guard has not missed a game since and is an important part of the offensive line.

He will continue to play a key role for the team as they aim to surpass their 2025 success. The Bears won the NFC North with an 11-6 record and reached the Divisional Round.

Jonah Jackson speaks highly of Bears training staff

Jackson gave the training staff a lot of credit. He stressed that he only needed “some R & R” after the Falcons game.

“We have (to give) credit to our training staff,” Jackson said. “We got a great training staff in the building. They just do everything, check every box to make sure I’m healthy enough and ready to go and do my job to the fullest. Whether it’s massage and move and exercise and whatever it takes to get me on the field.”

Jonah’s availability helped the Bears secure back-to-back wins, including Thursday night’s 30-24 victory. Guards rarely receives praise for what they do, but he has been a leader on and off the field.

Chicago will next face the Seattle Seahawks on Nov. 2. The team will visit the defending Super Bowl champions at Lumen Field in what promises to be a highly-entertaining matchup. Jackson and the Bears are 5-2 so far this season, while the Seahawks are 4-3. The “Monday Night Football” game will be broadcast live on ESPN starting at 8:15 p.m. ET.
