The Jets will be missing several key players again this week, news that could affect how fans Explore legal betting platforms and evaluate the latest point spread, player props, and game-day odds. Head coach Aaron Glenn announced Thursday that Breece Hall, Adonai Mitchell, Dylan Parham and Kiko Mauigoa have all been ruled out.

While the Jets will be shorthanded, Glenn said he likes the progress the injured players are making. He also delivered some encouraging news, confirming that tight end Mason Taylor will return to the lineup.

Breece Hall Among Four Jets Ruled Out

Hall will miss the game because of a quad injury, leaving the Jets without one of their most dangerous offensive players. His absence will force Frank Reich to adjust the running back rotation and find other ways to generate explosive plays. Parham will also be unavailable because of a knee injury, creating another concern along the offensive line. Mauigoa remains out with a quad injury, while Mitchell will miss his third consecutive game because of a finger injury.

Glenn said Mitchell did not undergo a procedure and explained that finger injuries can be particularly difficult for wide receivers.

“When it comes to receivers, and you talk about a finger, those things can vary when it comes to difficulty as far as catching the ball and the pain tolerance,” Glenn said. “He’s progressing faster than we thought that he would.”

Glenn hopes Mitchell will be able to take another step toward returning next week.

Mason Taylor Will Play

The best news from the injury update involves Taylor, who has been dealing with a thumb injury. When Glenn was asked directly if the rookie tight end would play, he did not leave any room for interpretation.

“Mason will be playing,” Glenn said.

Taylor impressed the coaching staff during training camp, and Glenn made it clear that the injury has not changed what the Jets expect from him this season.

“Just because things happened with him within this season as far as injuries, that doesn’t mean that my expectations have dropped at all,” Glenn said. “He’s a really good player, so I look forward to seeing how he progresses as he gets back out there.”

Getting Taylor back should help Geno Smith and an offense that will be without Hall and Mitchell. Taylor gives the Jets another option in the middle of the field and could take on a larger role in the passing game.

More Positive Injury News

Glenn said Kingsley Enagbare and Jarvis Brownlee Jr. are progressing well, with both players expected to practice fully. Tim Patrick will also practice as the Jets evaluate whether he is ready to return.

“Again, I like where these guys are trending,” Glenn said. “Some of these guys that were on the injury report, looking forward to seeing those guys playing.”

Patrick’s availability would give the Jets another experienced option at wide receiver while Mitchell remains sidelined.

D’Angelo Ponds Earns His Opportunity

Glenn was also asked why veteran cornerback Nahshon Wright has been inactive in recent weeks. His answer was straightforward. The Jets have several defensive backs playing well, and there are only so many players who can be active on game day. Glenn specifically praised D’Angelo Ponds, Brandon Stephens and AZ Thomas. Ponds received an opportunity after returning from injury and has earned additional playing time through his performance in practice.

“Ponds has picked it up, he’s practiced well, he’s earned the right to get a chance to get out there and play,” Glenn said.

Glenn added that Wright will eventually get another opportunity. For now, the Jets are choosing the group they believe gives them the best chance to win each week.
