Chaos: National Emergency Urgently Needed

With the economic collapse looming rumored martial law spreading, one United States presidential candidate, whose popularity among young Republicans and Democrates is exploding, called this weekend for a national emergency. The reason for the call differs to what one might expect. Should President Obama initiate a national emergency as this candidate is urging, many Americans believe no presidential election would be held; Obama would remain in office; and the final overt stage of a U.S. dictatorship would be established; according to, they say, directives enacted by George W. Bush and expanded by Barack Obama. Bush initiated Orwellian laws and Obama sustained and even enhance them, both marching the nation toward fascism. Whether this is yet another example of America’s so-called two-party system being one and the same, revolutionary change both parties claim they want will only come from a third party that recognizes the real emergency Americans face.

“We need to acknowledge the true state of emergency we are in,” presidential hopeful Dr. Jill Stein said, not referring to the two main presidential candidates, both causing anxiety nationally and worrisome globally.

Stein recently held her own when Fox News Interviewed her and repeatedly attempted to discredit her platform policy of student debt. She explained to the interviewer how the Federal Reserve operates and how students could be bailed out as easily as banksters have been.

Stein, the Green Party candidate’s path to victory is nothing to sneeze about. Her numbers are soaring at an all-time third-party record. While Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton take media’s national news 2016 election season limelight, voters disappointed in both establishment candidates and corporate media are looking for third-party alternatives. This might be the year that a third party candidate actually has a chance in the presidential election.

Stein’s strong support base, much of which is comprised of disgruntled former Clinton and Trump lovers, is campaigning for media to include her in the debates. Stein has been presenting herself as the alternative to disappointed Bernie Sanders supporters, who can’t bring themselves to vote for alleged career criminal Hillary. Stein appeared at the Democratic convention in Philadelphia, according to Slate, to conduct an alternative convention to bring Sanders supporters to her cause. It has been working.

Stein holds the record for gaining the most votes of any female candidate in the general election.

Thanks to millenniums, as more disappointed voters look to third party alternatives, 2016 may be the year when America finally warms up to the idea of third parties.

“Polls show younger voters are taking a long look at the Libertarian and Green Party nominees this year,” POLITICO reports.

The U.S. Census Bureau reports that there were 75.4 million millennials (ages 18-34) in 2015.

“That could be a big problem for Hillary Clinton is in a close race against Donald Trump,” according to Politico

National Emergency Reality Check

Stein’s rationale for a national emergency is that millions of Americans in various parts of the nation are battling states of emergency due to wildfires and flooding.

“We need to acknowledge the true state of emergency we are in,” Stein said. “The fires in California and floods in Louisiana are going to become day-by-day occurrences, and, within our lifetimes, there is going to be potentially catastrophic sea-level rise.

“We need to ensure that these disasters do not become a daily way of life for all Americans and people all over the world,” she said, “and this is why we need to declare a climate state of emergency so that we can respond in real time in the ways that we need to.”

Poll after poll show Americans are wanting action on climate change, action that meets the severity of the crisis, Stein says, referring to the millennium voters. She called for empowering Americans to instruct their elected officials – namely Congress – to act in their interests, not in the interests of lobbyists.

Stein was astonished to witness today’s Republican party appearing to be “unraveling at the seams” and warned that Democrats were moving to the right. Hillary Clinton’s choice to appoint former Colorado senator and interior secretary Ken Salazar to be her transition director “represents the real Hillary Clinton”, Stein said.

Salazar, she reminded, is a reliable friend to the fossil fuel, ranching and mining industries. As Obama’s interior secretary, he opened the Arctic Ocean for oil drilling, and oversaw the BP Gulf of Mexico oil catastrophe response, a response that was a secondary disaster. Since returning to the private sector, she said, Salazar had become “the lobbyist’s lobbyist – a man who strongly supports fracking, is in favor of the [Keystone XL] pipeline and likely to ensure such projects are approved in the future, and supports the Trans-Pacific partnership”.

“His appointment unveils the real Hillary Clinton who would take office. We’re seeing how much faith people should put into the new vision of the Democratic party. It’s a case of buyer beware,” Stein said.

Stein is also gaining votes with her long-time stance that the U.S. should halt funding Israel and Saudi Arabia. In August, U.S.-backed, Saudi-led coalition in Yemen killed dozens of civilians, bombed at least one school,and bombed one hospital supported by Doctors Without Borders. As Democracy Now reported, “A number of activists, politicians and news outlets, including The New York Times, are calling on the United States to stop arms sales to Saudi Arabia over the ongoing conflict. But Green Party presidential nominee Jill Stein is going even further—calling on the U.S. to stop all funding for Israel and Saudi Arabia.”

Polling as high as 8% and still climbing as former Bernie Sanders supporters and others learning about her refreshing platform commit to her, Stein only needs another 7% to meet the 15% media requirement for a podium position in the coming presidential TV debates. Because corporate media set that requirement, Stein supporters are calling for a 3-Party debate, one that would include Stein.

Stein said that declaring a state of emergency would address two related crises in the climate and the economy. Her platform involved a New Deal — solution e Green New Deal that would rapidly create 20m new jobs, lead to a sustainable economy and transition the US to 100% clean energy by 2030 — as environmental leaders such as Van Jones, Josh Tickell and Bill McKibben have been promoting for decades.

Now, more so than ever, America has a chance to catch up with other nations in solving energy and employment woes. The New Deal would help revive the economy, turn the tide on climate change and make wars for oil obsolete.

“When you have 100% renewable energy, you do not need and you cannot justify a military budget that distributes soldiers and weapons all around the world.”

Fourteen of the fifteen hottest years on record occurred since 2000. It will become worse, according to non-corporate scientists.

“Each month now, we’re seeing records set for climate change and global warming. Science is telling us that the day of reckoning is coming closer. This is not something that can wait another four years.

“We are in an existential moment where we have to decide if we want a future or not,” she said.
