Angel Reese’s 3-word statement after Dream beat Liberty
Angel Reese and the Atlanta Dream booked their WNBA Finals ticket on Friday. They swept the No. 8-seeded New York Liberty, and the star forward posted a three-word statement on X.
Reese led her team’s charge with 22 points, nine rebounds, three assists, three blocks and two three-pointers. Rhyne Howard backed her with 21 points, while Jordin Canada produced 19 points, three rebounds and 11 assists. DeWanna Bonner added 13 points and 13 rebounds in the 85-83 win.
The Liberty, on the other hand, were led by Breanna Stewart and Jonquel Jones. They combined for 52 points, 18 rebounds and nine assists, with Sabrina Ionescu contributing 12 points, four rebounds and three assists. However, no other New York player scored in double digits.

Reese reposted her message on X from Oct. 11, 2025. She manifested reaching the WNBA Finals, which she achieved in less than a year.

The 24-year-old continues to enjoy a historic season. She set new marks for most rebounds in a game and in season in WNBA history. Reese also owns the record for most double-doubles in a single campaign. Her strong performances this year led to her third All-Star selection and first Defensive Player of the Year award.
Atlanta finished the regular season with a 30-14 win-loss slate and clinched the No. 4 seed. The team remains undefeated in the playoffs with a 5-0 record after sweeping the Washington Mystics in the first round. Reese and Co. will face the No. 2-seeded Golden State Valkyries in the finals. They are also coming off a sweep in the semifinals over the defending champions, the Las Vegas Aces.
The Dream have reached the finals for the first time since 2013 and are aiming to win their first WNBA championship. Reese’s elite skill set will continue to be relied upon heavily as the Valkyries feature a formidable lineup led by Gabby Williams.
